Can we record that?

Where is it legal to record a telephone conversation? Who has to know the call is being recorded? What about interstate phone calls? Do you know the answer, reporters?

If not, check out the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press’s guide to recording conversations. It’s got the rules for all 50 states.
